JB & Rebecca, the owners of Pacific Grind Café, believe a quality espresso based café/restaurant can do many things for all, and, if it does them all in harmony, truly impact the quality of life for regulars and one-timers alike.

For JB, a culinary school graduate, former ACF certified executive chef and 18 year "Culinary Mercenary" and Rebecca, a 12 year veteran of the "Coffee Wars" from independent shops in Alaska and Colorado to a 5 year tour with corporate coffee in Florida and Maryland, it's all about the details and extra effort. A memorable espresso drink is just like a perfect French sauce. There are very technical things to be done, especially when you're doing it "à la minute", or in the moment, to order. It's not just something you pour in a cup. For us it's a total artisan thing. It's how it's handled. It's how the milk is "cooked", how the syrups are slightly modified based on the number of espresso shots. Everything is custom, just like a fine sauce or a soup...it's all a matter of technique!

JB & Rebecca met in 1996 at a coffee shop-café much like this one, which JB owned in Homer, Alaska. They married 10 years ago, and have since lived in Colorado, Florida and Maryland. JB pursued a second career in banking for the past seven years, while Rebecca has been fine tuning her "mean bean" skills all along. All the while they both pined to move back to what they called the "Left Coast." Having fallen for the spell of the Oregon Coast on a vacation they decided it was time to fulfill their dream and make a go of it in Lincoln City.

JB and Rebecca are certain of one thing - Consistency is the name of the game. The PGC crew of seven team members is dedicated to keeping dependable hours, being well informed and fully engaging with each guest and offering elixirs and edibles that are not only good the first time, but that taste the same every time.
